How adorable is this little felt Shiba Inu Windup Toy! On my recent trip to Hong Kong, I was lucky enough to chance upon a craft store – Handcrafter. Handcrafter had a vast selection of craft supplies, but what’s more impressive was the entire row of DIY kits available! This Sun Felt Shiba Inu DIY kit caught my eye because it looked incredibly squishy. I had bought it thinking it was a roly-poly, but upon opening the kit, it turned out to be a windup toy. I haven’t seen one in a long time, so that definitely brought back some childhood memories!
The DIY kit consisted of all the materials you’d need to create the toy, besides needles and a pair of scissors. The instructions were all in Japanese so it did take some time to figure it out as some parts required different stitches.
Admittedly, I did not think it’d take that long to put this together, but it turned out to be a lot more detailed than expected! As the finished product was fairly small, it required precise stitching. Each part was carefully stitched together, even the swirls on the bandana were embroidered on. The packaging did mention that this DIY kit would require 3.5 hours in total as well. Take a look at the timelapse of the entire process below!
