Both Ros & I admittedly craft quite a lot and sometimes it just isn’t possible to put up tutorials for all our DIY projects because of various reasons. It can get quite tricky taking photos while working with some of the materials (ie. power tools or wet paint) or just because they were done in the spur of the moment and we actually do need to plan most of our tutorials to ensure that the instructions are presented to you in the clearest and easiest way.
Here’s one such DIY. I worked on one weekday night, inspired by one of the statement necklaces I saw in a local Zara last season retailing for SGD $49.90. I would have got it, except every piece I took had at least one missing stone. Plus I knew i could make it. I took my time to collate what I needed from Art Friend and Chinatown in the past few months and managed to take a snapshot of most of the materials before I started.
My take:
How do you like it? I’ve been incorporating colour into my wardrobe recently and I’m very much in love with this necklace. Hope this inspires you to make your own as well! x

It looks lovely on you!
Thanks Agy! You’re too sweet! :)
Wow your version looks way better than the Zara version!!!!!!!
That’s a massive compliment, thank you so much Rukmini! :)
What’s the name of the blue cord that’s next to the chain? is it just cotton? I’m trying to find supplies online and can’t find that one!
It looks really beautiful!
I used a combination of mostly embroidery threads and chain for this diy. Think the blue cord you’re referring to might just be like regular shoelaces! It’s about 1cm in width :) Hope that helps and all the best for your diy! x
