DIY Tutorial: Leather Bracelet

Sorry that we haven’t been consistent with updates lately! I have been on a mental block, but I certainly hope ideas are coming back soon!

Materials you’ll need for this tutorial:

  • Leather Straps, 1″ wide, 30cm length
  • Adjustable Bucklet
  • 2 Metal Hoop
  • 4 Screw posts
  • Belt Metal Tips
  • Pliers
  • Leather Puncher (not pictured, but I used an eyelet puncher instead)
  • Scissors (not pictured)
  • Ruler (not pictured)

1. Loop one end of the strap through the hoop and mark where you’d like your holes to be.

2. Punch your holes. I had to punch my holes separately since there wasn’t enough allowance for me to punch through 2 layers of leather.

3. This is how it’ll look when your holes have been punched! Do not worry about the loose threads. You can trim them slightly, but they will be covered up later on.

4. Insert the top side of your screw posts.

5. Flip it over and screw them tight!

6. Measure across the top of your wrist with a 3cm allowance and snip the rest off. Mine came out to 7cm.

7. Loop the loose end to the center of your buckle.

8. Sew across the indicated dotted line and this will make the first part of your bracelet.

9. Cut a second piece of leather strap to approximately 15cm or less, depending on how big your wrist is. You can always work with excess.

10. Repeat steps 1 to 5 on one end of the second strap.

11. Attach the belt tip to the other end of your second strap.

12. You have most of your bracelet done by now. You can choose to add a leather strap or chains to the center here. For this tutorial, we are going with the remaining leather we have left.

13. Sew one end of the remaining leather strap to your metal hoop. It is good to put the bracelet around your wrist to estimate how long you’d like your centerpiece to be.

14. Repeat step 13 with the opposite end and you’re good to go :)

Have a good week ahead! x

Hello there, I’ve been following our blog for a while and I must say that your projects are awesome! I was thinking of making a version of your leather tote using real leather – could you ladies suggest where I could possibly get large leather scraps in Singapore at an affordable price? Thanks

Hi dear, we are not particularly sure about getting real leather. You could try Spotlight, as they do sell small bags of scrap leather, or you can try this shop – Leather Arcade at Bukit Timah Shopping Centre 170 Upper Bukit Timah Road. Hope this helps! :)
